A town founded between 1158 - 65. Bogolyubovo was the first stone city of Northern Rus'. Unfortunately, time and history have not been kind to the town, nevertheless some old monuments remain; most importantly, Church of the Intercession on the Nerl - a striking silhouette and a delight to the eye and to the soul with the perfection and harmony of its beauty.
